Blade Runner 2049 Reviews - Film Trip Homework

Read the following five star reviews...
Then, for each article, write your own comment in response to each article (minimum of fifty words each)

One point that was made throughout was that the film noir aspect wasn’t incorporated as strongly as it was in the original movie; the review stated, “the sequel slightly de-emphasises the first film intimate, downbeat noir qualities in favour of something more gigantic and monolithic”. I agree with this point because the newer version of Blade Runner was much more focused on the vibrant and eye catching colours which all added to the action genre of the movie. We didn’t really see much of film noir, however it fits with the narrative of the film as it is set 30 years ahead of the original movie.
As I was reading through the comment section, I came across one comment that read "It looks amazing. But it has problems. The problems are more in what it lacks than what it has. I realised last night I can't remember a single quotable line, whereas the original has nothing but. For me the driving heart of the original movie was the gang of alienated gothic replicants and how their spirit seemed more human than the wreck of a dystopian human society". I agree with this point because after watching a 2 hour and 40 minutes of the whole film, I myself cannot re call any of the lines that stood out the most because it was too long.

This review mainly focuses on the dystopian fears; the original Blade runner introduced aspects from society that were deemed to be unusual . However, in the newer version, we are able to see the aspects that were unusual before are the norm today. For example, there are more sexual scenes which is widely accepted by many audiences today.
